Varnish is a web app accelerator, which has been gaining a lot of popularity in recent years, as it can increase the load speed of any site, at times even by one hundred percent, depending on the content itself. This tool is sometimes called a caching HTTP reverse proxy as well and is used to decrease the overall load on the physical machine and to improve the access speed for the website visitors. Each time a visitor opens a page on a particular website, the browser request is processed by the web server and the requested information is served as a response. If the Varnish accelerator is activated, it caches the pages that the site visitor opens and if any of them is opened once more, it is delivered by Varnish and not by the web server directly. The improvement in the performance comes from the fact that the accelerator processes the web requests tremendously quicker than any web server, which results in much faster browsing speeds for the site visitors. In case any content is modified meanwhile, the cached web pages will also be updated the next time somebody tries to open them.

Varnish in Hosting

You can use Varnish’s potential and improve your websites’ loading speed irrespective of the hosting plan that you have selected and you can enable and set up the platform with a few mouse clicks via the simple-to-work-with graphical interface offered by our next-generation Hepsia Control Panel. During the process, you will be able to choose two separate things – how many websites will employ the Varnish platform, in other words – the number of instances, and how much info will be cached, i.e. the amount of memory. The latter comes in increments of 32 megabytes and is not linked to the number of instances, so you can use more instances with less memory and vice versa. If you have a lot of content on a specific website and you receive a lot of site visitors, more system memory will give you a better result. You may also consider employing a dedicated IP for the websites that will use the Varnish caching platform. Hepsia will provide you with simple one-click buttons for stopping or rebooting any instance, for clearing the cache associated with each website and for viewing elaborate system logs.

Varnish in Semi-dedicated Servers

All our semi-dedicated servers include Varnish by default, so you can take advantage of the web accelerator and optimize the loading speed of any website that you host on our platform. You’ll get 64 MB of system memory exclusively for the Varnish accelerator at no additional charge and you can activate an instance with no more than a couple of clicks of the mouse via the Hepsia hosting Control Panel, which is included with the semi-dedicated plans. In case you need more memory, the latter is offered in increments of 32 megabytes in the Control Panel’s Upgrades section and it will be available to you momentarily. You can also add more instances as a separate upgrade, so you can decide whether a lot of content will be cached for a single website or whether the available memory will be used by different Internet sites. The Hepsia Control Panel will permit you to restart or to disable any instance, to view the system log associated with it or to delete the cached files using single-click buttons. To take full advantage of the Varnish accelerator, you can set a dedicated IP address for the Internet sites that will use it.

Varnish in VPS Servers

You can use Varnish with any of our VPS server plans at no extra cost, as the platform is pre-installed and is offered by default. The one and only prerequisite is that the VPS must come with the Hepsia Control Panel, via which you will be able to set up Varnish for any of your Internet sites with just a couple of clicks. Each package offers a different amount of system memory for content caching purposes, but you will get minimum several hundred megabytes, which is quite enough even for multiple resource-consuming Internet sites. Shortly after you activate Varnish, it will start caching the content that your site visitors open, so you will notice the significantly better web page load speeds and the reduced load on your virtual server in no time. The Varnish caching platform will allow you to use a less expensive VPS, since you won’t need that many resources to sustain the proper operation of your Internet sites even if you manage traffic-intensive sites with lots of visitors. Optimal results are achieved if the Internet sites which use Varnish also use a dedicated IP.

Varnish in Dedicated Servers

You can employ Varnish in order to optimize the loading speed of any site that is hosted on a dedicated server with us when the Hepsia hosting Control Panel is installed on it. Not only will you get the data caching platform ready to be used at no extra fee, but you’ll also exert complete control over it through Hepsia’s user-friendly graphical interface. It’ll take only one click of the mouse to start or shut down an instance or to delete the cache associated with any site that is using the Varnish platform and if you’re more trained, you can also see the platform’s logs. Varnish comes with no less than 3 gigabytes of memory for content caching purposes, so even if you host a vast number of Internet sites on your machine and they all use the platform, the difference in their performance will be detectable. You will simply need to wait for a little while till Varnish caches whatever web pages the site visitors open on their end. The Varnish platform works best when the sites use a dedicated IP address, but due to the fact that our dedicated servers include 3 free-of-charge IP addresses, you’ll have everything you need.
