A catch-all email mailbox receives email messages sent to inactive addresses under the very same domain. For example, an email sent to the miswritten suport@domain.com will be delivered to support@domain.com if the catch-all feature has been activated for the latter. In this way, you can get emails from pals or clients who may have sent a message to your email address with a typographical error or to an outdated one, which they may still have, but you have already deactivated. Just one single mailbox per domain name can be a catch-all one and email forwarding cannot be set up for such a mailbox. This is so because of the fact that at a certain moment you may begin receiving spam emails in the catch-all mailbox and the forwarding restriction implies that the spam will not be re-sent to a third-party mailbox.

Catch-all Emails in Hosting

If you have a Linux hosting with our company and you’d like to activate the catch-all option for a particular email mailbox that you’ve got in the hosting account, it will take literally only one single mouse click in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia Control Panel to do that. A catch-all button is available on the right-hand side of each email address that you have set up under any domain name hosted in the account. You can pick one address per domain by clicking on the respective button. This will activate the feature straight away, so all emails sent to misspelled email addresses will be received there. Clicking on the button once again will turn off the catch-all feature. If you’ve got activated email forwarding, our system will display a cautionary notification and you will not be able to enable the catch-all feature unless you delete the forwarding or you can simply choose another mailbox to be the catch-all one.

Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Servers

The catch-all functionality can be enabled without any effort if you’ve got a semi-dedicated server plan with us. All the email addresses that you have set up using the domain names hosted in your semi-dedicated server account will be shown in the Hepsia Control Panel’s Email Manager section and you’ll find a small button conveniently located directly next to each of them. With only a single click of the mouse, you can activate or deactivate the catch-all option for any mailbox of your choosing on the condition that there isn't another mailbox under the same domain name with the option already enabled and there isn't activated email forwarding. Instead, you can right-click on a mailbox and activate this option using the context menu that will show up. In case any of the conditions for creating a catch-all mailbox is not fulfilled, our system will notify you, but will not deactivate or replace anything automatically.
