.NAME Domains

Started in 2001, the .NAME gTLD is the sole TLD planned for personal websites only. These domain names can include personal or fictional names, aliases and/or other labels people are known by. At first, solely third-level registrations were possible, so if you wanted to buy john.doe.name, you were required to do that under .doe.name. In 2004, however, the registration process was loosened and second-level registrations were also allowed. Existing 3rd-level domain names remained active.

You will be able to edit the WHOIS contact info, to park your domain, to edit Custom DNS records, etc. You can also transfer an active domain to our company if you have its EPP transfer authorization code from the current registration provider and we will renew it when the transfer has been done. There are no particular regulations on who can register a .NAME domain, but in order to preserve the idea behind its establishment alive, the Registry organization may verify who the Registrant is and if there is no connection between the owner and the actual domain, the registration could be challenged.
